What Makes Cyprus the Right Choice for Your Future
The island suits entrepreneurs, traders, financially independent persons (FIPs) and offers many chances to do business. So, if you are an entrepreneur thinking about a move to Cyprus to enjoy the low taxes and great location, you've come to the right place!
Cyprus has a pleasant Mediterranean climate. The summers are long and sun-drenched, and the winters are mild and delightful. The island has everything one could possibly want! Picture yourself on a beautiful beach, surrounded by lush green mountains and historic sites. You're going to love living here! This really is the place where you can live your best life!
But Cyprus has more to offer than a nice setting. A move to Cyprus will open up many business opportunities and give your business a stable base.
As an Entrepreneur in Cyprus
Moving to Cyprus is the best option for entrepreneurs from across the European Union. The Cyprus government is committed to attracting international investment and new business. The Non-Dom Regime is the key here. It will give you tax benefits that are second to none.
Cyprus sits where Europe, Asia and Africa meet. This strong location is good for international business. Many international companies already have their base here, so the business environment is busy and truly international.

As a Trader in Cyprus
For traders who deal in securities, Cyprus offers good conditions. The tax rules on capital gains are favourable, which can help traders keep more of their returns. Cyprus also has strong infrastructure, which makes it a good base for traders.

As a Financially Independent Person (FIP) in Cyprus
For financially independent persons (FIPs), living in Cyprus under the Non-Dom Regime it can bring large tax benefits. Non-Dom Status usually lets you receive capital gains and dividends free of Cyprus tax for at least 17 years. After the 2026 tax reform, you can also extend Non-Dom Status two more times, by five years each, for a fee.
This makes Cyprus an attractive destination for wealthy individuals seeking to reduce their tax burden and enjoy a high standard of living.

Benefits for Employees in Cyprus
Employees being employed by their own company in Cyprus enjoy many advantages. With Non-Dom Status, they can get real tax relief, mainly on capital gains and dividends.
Social insurance payments and personal income taxes in Cyprus are usually lower than in many other European countries. This can mean more take-home pay. You also get a high standard of living and a pleasant climate, which makes both working and living in Cyprus appealing.

The Tax Advantages of a Move to Cyprus
Low personal income tax
If your yearly income is up to EUR 22,000, you pay no personal income tax. Above this level, the rates rise step by step and are still low by international standards.
Cyprus Non-Dom Status
If you become a tax resident of Cyprus and apply for Non-Dom Status, you can be exempt from tax on dividends, interest and other foreign income, among other things. Digital nomads can use these benefits too. The 60-day rule is one feature that makes Cyprus Non-Dom Status stand out.
Low corporate income tax and a strong treaty network
Cyprus offers a competitive corporate income tax rate of 15 percent, one of the most favourable rates in the EU. No trade tax or special levies are applied. Cyprus also has a wide network of double tax treaties across the EU and beyond, which can bring further tax advantages for companies and people.

Cost of Living in Cyprus

Requirements to Relocate to Cyprus
The process for EU citizens and citizens of the European Economic Area (EEA, including Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) is clear and fairly simple.
As an EU or EEA citizen, you can enter Cyprus without a visa and stay for up to three months. During this time you can work without a work permit, though you'll need to register for tax, Social Insurance and GESY.
If you want to stay longer than three months, you need to apply for a registration certificate for EU citizens, known as the Yellow Slip. You generally need this document to live and work legally in Cyprus.
What the Yellow Slip allows you to do
- The right to live in Cyprus on a long-term basis.
- The right to work in Cyprus, for example through your own company.
- The ability to take out health insurance for you and your family, register a vehicle, and enroll your children in school, among other things.
You apply for the Yellow Slip at the Cyprus immigration authorities. You need to provide a few supporting documents, including:
- Valid passport or national ID card: proof of who you are and your citizenship.
- Proof of employment or self-employment (an employment contract or evidence of self-employment).
It is best to apply for the Yellow Slip in good time, to avoid legal and financial problems. Without the document, your rights can be limited and you may face extra costs.
Cyprus is a stable, supportive place for EU and EEA citizens who want to make it their new home. The clear process and the efficient authorities help make the move as smooth as possible.
